The Knit and Chat Group support the Mulanje Orphanage in Malawi
The blankets which the Knit and Chat group make are sent to Mulanje Orphanage in Malawi. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world and its population suffers greatly from malaria, TB and HIV/AIDS. The consequences particularly affect children and the elderly. A World Health Organisation report indicates that three parents die and then children become and ten children become orphans every hour. The total number of orphans is over 300,000. Mulanji Orphanage seeks to help those in desperation.
The Knit & Chat Group as their handiwork is blessed and sent to Malawi.
