Serving

Church members are engaged in a wide variety of ways of serving the community including Christian Aid, Traidcraft, Alcoholics Anonymous, Macmillan Nurses, the Local Council, South Devon Railway, Trefoil Guild, Rowcroft & Exeter Hospices, Prison Visiting, the Dawlish Museum and Smiles Foundation.

The church collectively is involved in supporting ecology concerns, St Petrock’s homeless shelter, Shelter, Teignbridge Youth project and Commitment for Life.

We believe that we are serving our neighbours by offering our building as a centre for community in the middle of Dawlish. We believe in partnership working alongside all those who are willing to work on the Kingdom values which Jesus spoke about. It was for this reason that the church decided to change its name to The Strand Church; we are the Strand Church in the Strand Centre.

The Knit & Chat Group make blankets for orphans in Malawi.

The church supports third world projects financially through Commitment for Life, Shelter Boxes and other charities.

“It is great the way the church works in the community and its members are involved in local groups.”
